4.1 Employment Boundaries; No Surveillance or Retaliation (managers/HR)
To preserve a “Safe Space” environment for support, education and advancement for early-career and bedside nurses, The Silver Scrub Society is not presently granting access to individuals in known managerial, supervisory or human resource roles, except where expressly authorized in writing by The Silver Scrub Society for a specific educational initiative.
· Definition. “Manager” includes anyone who presently has authority to hire, fire, discipline, direct, evaluate, schedule, or meaningfully recommend such actions regarding other employees (including human resource personnel and supervisors at any level), whether full-time, part-time, or per-diem, at any employer.
· Member Representation. By joining, You represent and warrant that You are not a Manager under the definition above and will promptly notify The Silver Scrub Society if Your status changes.
· Verification; enforcement. The Silver Scrub Society may request reasonable verification of eligibility, deny or revoke access, and remove Information if We determine in our sole discretion that a user is (or becomes) a Manager or attempted to circumvent this policy. Any remedies under §11 (Billing & Subscriptions) apply; We may, but are not obligated to, offer pro-rata credit as a courtesy.

1. Educational capacity only. You participate solely for learning and discussion.
2. No surveillance or monitoring. You will not use The Silver Scrub Society to observe, track, identify, or attempt to identify employees, candidates, or specific workplaces; You will not solicit or pressure members to reveal identities or employment details.
3. No employment decisions. You will not use, copy, screenshot, download, scrape, or otherwise rely on The Silver Scrub Society Information (including DMs) to make, influence, or support employment decisions (e.g., hiring, firing, discipline, transfer, scheduling, compensation, promotion, or assignment) or to conduct investigations into lawful off-duty conduct or protected concerted activity, to the extent permitted by law.
4. No retaliation. You will not retaliate against any person for participating in The Silver Scrub Society for expressing views in this community.
No duty to monitor; enforcement. The Silver Scrub Society does not monitor for employment policy violations and is not an HR records system. We may remove Information, restrict access, or terminate accounts that violate this Section and, where appropriate, notify our Platform host.
Legal notice. Nothing in this Section prevents The Silver Scrub Society from complying with valid legal process or acting in good faith to address imminent threats to safety (see §10), nor does it limit any non-waivable rights under applicable law (e.g., employee rights to engage in protected concerted activity).
5. Educational Use Only – Not Medical Advice
All Information on The Silver Scrub Society website (including Admin posts, summaries, and community discussions) is general educational information for licensed professionals to evaluate alongside current standards of care, and You agree You are not solely relying on the Information You find on Our Platform, and will conduct Your own research and due diligence before taking any action or refraining to act in a particular situation. It is not medical advice, nursing orders, diagnoses, treatment or a substitute for clinical judgment.
5.1 Jurisdictional variability. Clinical guidelines, scope, protocols and product labeling vary by institution and state. Users are responsible for verifying policies with their employer, board of nursing and current evidence; Information may not reflect Your facility’s rules or Your state’s law.
5.2 Editorial Note. Admin-authored educational materials are curated from professional resources and research; however, medicine evolves, and errors can occur. Use independent clinical judgment and verify clinical details with primary sources.
6. Crisis & Safety; Not an Emergency Service
No provider-patient relationship is formed on The Silver Scrub Society. This Platform is not an emergency service and is not monitored 24/7. If You or someone else may be in danger, call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call/text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org). In Connecticut, You may also dial 2-1-1 for mobile crisis services and other crisis options.
You agree not to post time-sensitive requests for help with threats of self-harm or harm to others. If such Information appears, members should report it to moderators and contact emergency services.
Safety actions We may take. If We, in good faith, believe there is a serious and imminent risk to any person, We may (at our discretion) contact emergency services, our Platform host, or law enforcement and share limited account or Information necessary to help prevent or lessen the threatened harm, consistent with applicable law. However, You understand this does not create any duty to monitor or take action for any particular post.
Connecticut Mandated-Reporter Reminder (Members)
Nothing in these Terms alters any independent legal duties You have as an individual (e.g., as a licensed nurse) under Connecticut mandated-reporter laws. If, in Your professional capacity, You have reasonable cause to suspect child abuse/neglect, or elder abuse/neglect/exploitation, You must follow state reporting laws and timelines.
